Shell Gas Station
Shell Oil Company is a US subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell which is among the largest oil companies in the world. Currently there is an average of 22,000 Shell employees based in the US alone. Shell and Texaco formed a joint refining/marketing venture in 1997. The result was a joining of their Midwestern and western operations which was called Equilon and Motiva which combined the eastern and gulf coast operations of Shell Oil and Star Enterprise. When the merger was forged between Texaco and Chevron in 2001 Shell managed to purchase Texaco's shares in the joint venture and later in 2002 Shell began a campaign to change Texaco branded stations to Shell stations.
